So... I haven't posted in a while...

As Parent Teacher Conferences and the first quarter report cards come to an end... I can't believe how quickly the time has gone! It's the perfect time of year when my first graders become so excited at the sight of snow, the speak of Santa, and the thought of Christmas, that working in an elementary school feels like working in Disney Land! I can't believe it's already December! My students have become so comfortable in the classroom, it's wonderful. They're comfortable with me, like their fellow classmates, and understand the classroom rules and procedures (for the most part, hehe). Do anyone else's students ask them every day how many days until Christmas? How many days until Santa comes?

Is anyone else super excited that Parent Teacher Conferences are over? How do you do your Parent Teacher Conferences? Are they all in one day?

Oh, on the cute side- a student told me he's going to buy me a diamond last week.... my response.. "hmm... it took you about 50 days to want to buy me a diamond... it took my fiance 6 years!" HAHA

Summer is already coming to an end?!

Alright...... fellow teachers... many of you have already started school... HOWEVER, some of you, like ME, have not started yet and are beginning to prepare for new students to arrive. Where do you begin? I walk into my classroom and feel super overwhelmed! I've organized some stuff, but have so much more to do! Also, our supplies is not in yet, so I can't decorate my room! I guess I'll stick to organizing and getting everything set for my little ones before I get to the fun stuff!   I feel like I walk into my room and just walk around in circles because I'm not sure where to begin! I feel like... HOW CAN I GET THIS ALL DONE WITHIN 2 WEEKS!?

Where do you begin? Any tips for a smooth school year?

My very first blog.....

Okay, so I'm new to this whole blogging thing. I feel as though I may have a tough time at first, but once I start I won't be able to stop writing! Mainly because I love to talk! So, maybe this will be easier than I think! Let me tell you a little bit about myself.

I have two crazy, loving, sock eating dogs. They pretty much rule my house. We rescued both of them, so they're pure mutts, but we wouldn't have it any other way!  Their names are Dax and Tank. Tank fully lives up to his name. Two nights ago he ate the side off his food bowl and threw it up in the middle of the night. He eats everything, barks at anything, and is a goofy 7 month old puppy! I also have a cat, who acts more like a dog. His name is Hercules. I've been teaching first grade for four years. I absolutely LOVE teaching first grade. I love the age, and I love the curriculum. Teaching these little ones how to read makes every day wonderful. It's almost like one day a light bulb goes off and they completely get it (for the most part, hehe). One of the many great things about this age is the fact that they tell you everything and are completely honest! Which, sometimes isn't so great! I once had a little boy come up and tell me "Miss Suppa, I look you a lot more with out your glasses. You look way better without them". He even made sure to emphasize the word way.

I am marrying my best friend in August of 2015. We've been together for almost 7 years and he truly is my best friend, as corny as it sounds! I have great friends, and amazing sisters. I also became an aunt to four beautiful babies all in a matter of four months! My soon to be sister in law had a little boy, Logan. My two sisters had little girls. My sister Maria had twin girls born a day apart (AH!) named Mary and Anna. My sister Nicole had a little girl named Claire. They're all absolutely perfect, and I'm obsessed with them! For a while, my younger sister Angela and I were considered the 'NOT' pregnant ones while my other two sisters were pregnant, haha.

I have some extremely funny stories to share about my first grade adventures, the craziness with my dogs, and the strange things that happen in my life. I can't wait to share these things with all of you!

Happy Sunday!
